Hi Cory,
I have created my website in a local host, then I uploaded via FTP and exporting the database and all that, but now when I want to add extensions is not allowing me, I got

        * JFolder::create: Could not create directory
        * Warning! Failed to move file.

Why is this? It is for all applications, I am not a programmer, my website is very amateur, how can I add this extension (or any other really) to my website I am constantly adding things. I hope you can help me, I love your posts they have helped me so much. - trova

@Ron Fullerman - You don't need to use Insert/Edit Media link. Just paste the link into the content area. Awesome plugin does all the work. Make sure you use the "Paste as TExt" option if it's available. Otherwise, some editors turn it into a link and you'll see duplicate videos on the page.

@Michelle - same as above, paste as text so it doesn't create a link. - Tony Schnabel

Flash file disappears

The Homeless Shelter website that I'm helping is asking for an embedded YouTube Video. I've installed the plugin ok, but when I go to the article and use the Insert/Edit Media link and put the YouTube URL into the Media Mgr.1.5.4, (Using Type=Flash) I only see a box on the page with the Flash Logo, but after applying, it disappears. I am an Administrator for this site. Do I need to be the Super Admin level to do this? Please, any suggestions? - Ron Fulleman

Installed the plugin, worked great except my drop down superfish menu renders behind the youtube image.
To get around this I add the parameter:
wmode="transparent"
to the embed code in the youtubeembed.php file

see below:
return '';

Worked perfectly in IE, Firefox and Chrome

I love this, but it keeps putting 2 videos. I copy the URL (not the link) and I can't figure out why it does this. Can you tell me what to do to fix it? I don't know how to see if my WYSIWYG editor is automatically creating a link. - Michelle Long

Thanks for this very useful explanation.
When I click on your video, it can take me directly to the original video's page on Youtube. Is there a way to deactivate that? My purpose is to keep my visitors within my website, so that if they want to comment on the video for example, they can do it on my website instead of going back to Youtube.
I hope that someone can answer my question. Thanks in advance. - Newbie

Hello. I'm a pretty big noob to Joomla but i've been trying to install .. well this is the 5th youtube plugin on my website and every time I try to install it i get a "invalid checksum" error.
I've tried both by uploading to ftp and by asking it to install it directly. The way that i've been trying to install it is by going into my admin area / installers / mambots. (i've also tried modules and components) and then well chosen upload in most cases and directed it to .. well i've tried every single file in the directories.

I have joomla 1.0.15 so it should work right ? I mean that is 1.5 ? That might just be a presumption. But i've tried several plugins now and it should seem weird that not one of them works so I must be doing something terribly wrong. If someone could help me i'd appreciate it. - Staude
