I have set up a traffic ranking comparison between Joomla!, Drupal, Wordpress, and Mambo over at Alexa.com. The results will be automatically updated daily, so you can see how Joomla! compares with other open source CMS's.

You can see the graph of the ranking comparison here.

Cory -

Your website is on my "frequent visitor" list. You JoomlaShack boys are really amazing. So glad I got to meet Haaris, in San Francisco. Not only are they super nice guys, they are very professional and obviously enjoy working together. We all know that when work is fun - the results are of a higher quality and quantity.

JoomlaShack's got things going on! No doubt.

Thanks for your newsletter! Go OPEN SOURCE!

Cory -

I am such a dope! lol ... I was trying to look up Haaris's real name - then forgot I hadn't finished typing. I also enjoyed meeting Barrie and Casey. And, I mean it, you JoomlaShack guys, IMO, are the most professional Joomla! folks around - plus, very nice people, which to me, is even more important.

Nice to see you continuing in Barrie's footsteps of providing another excellent learning resource for those of us who love Joomla!.

October 12, baby! YIPPEE!

Thanks, Amy! I'm really glad you have such a high opinion of us, and I'm proud to be part of such a great team.

IMO, Barrie's site is one of the best resources available for Joomla! users. I was reading his tutorials long before I even met him. smilies/smiley.gif

It is a great team and Barrie is totally contributing to the community, now you. I am doing some writing, as well, and I hope it will help. I think that the JoomlaShack way of freely giving is an excellent business model, as well, and I watch how you guys do this. SMART THINKING behind all of this shared information. It makes me feel very good that liberating knowledge like you guys do will *hopefully* cultivate business. People have to feed the family and to build a business on positive qualities is a real turn on. Keep up the good work.

I actually came back to add the name of other superstar: Mr. Dean Marshall. You JoomlaShack guys are all HOT Joomla! dudes! ... maybe a calendar? How many months have you got covered?

Take care...Amy

PS - Barrie - I am shocked as I look up at your post again. Tuck in your shirt and add the exclamation point to Joomla!. smilies/wink.gif

Guys,
I remember when Mambo was one of the most popular open source CMS's on the net. What has happened ? It looks like a large majority of dedicated and new users have left mambo to join Joomla. Oh well its all about the future and to be honest Joomla is the future. If you visit the mamboserver.com site the forum is nearly dead. Its a shame as i got into open source via mambo. Oh well cool site cory.

I agree that it's sad what happened with Mambo/Joomla!. I'm just glad the developers stuck together to keep developing a solid product. I knew when the entire development team left, Mambo's days were numbered. I've been surprised at how well that project has done in spite of losing all of its developers and most of the community.

About HowToJoomla

HowToJoomla was started in September 2006 by me, Cory Webb, a long-time Mambo/Joomla user with a desire to give back to the community that has given so much to him.

HowToJoomla is not the best, most comprehensive Joomla tips site out there. That's not the goal. The goal is to share some of the knowledge and experience that I have gained through years of using the world's best content managment system. I hope that you will find this site useful and visit often. As I come across new tips and ideas, I will post them here for all to see.

I hope you enjoy using HowToJoomla and find it very useful.

Please take some time to read the Disclaimer.

Thanks for visiting!

About Me

I am a 28-year-old husband and father of a beautiful baby girl named Lucy. I have a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, an MBA from Baylor University, and over 4 years experience working with the Mambo/Joomla CMS.

On February 1, 2008, I started a web design, development, and consulting company specializing in designing and developing custom Joomla-powered websites. The new company is aptly named Cory Webb Media, LLC. The double meaning is purely unintentional, but with a last name like "Webb" it is difficult to escape the obvious puns. If you are looking for professional assistance with your website, please feel free to contact me to discuss your project.

I also run HowToJoomla, CoryWebb.com (my personal website/blog), and JoomlaForm.com (a site dedicated to promoting good design in the Joomla! community). In my spare time (if there is such a thing), I volunteer with the youth ministry at my church.
