The core team has just announced the release of Joomla! 1.5 Beta 2! This release has been in the works for a long time (Beta 1 was released on October 12), and it marks a huge leap forward. I still wouldn't use 1.5 in a live site until the word "Beta" is removed from the title, but I can't wait to download it and start playing with the latest version. Congratulations to the core team on a great effort! Great job!

Phillip Swindall: ...
Chris,
As a minister to youth, I thank you all the things you have done to help others. Including your ChipIn to help this young girl with her therapy. I am working on a Joomla! site for the Christian high school where I teach Bible. I have SOME experience handling the back end of Joomla, getting what I need out of existing templates, even opening up slices in Photoshop and modifying them to fit my needs. Right now, I have a template "filling in," but I have a Photoshop template design laid out... I'd just like to know how I take that .psd file and do whatever I have to do to make it work for Joomla (1.0.x AND 1.5, since it looks like I'll have to migrate eventually). I don't have a LOT of experience in XHTML or PHP... but I used to know HTML (back in the early 90s)... its BEEN a while! I have enjoyed reading through your template posts... but I'm wondering if you have those in a downloadable format (pdf, doc, txt, whatever) all in one package. Its hard to look at what you've got on your page, tab over, or shift over to another program, try something and then test it out to see how it worked. If you can help, I would GREATLY appreciate it! Thanks! Phillip Swindall 1 report abuse
